Responsibilities Provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process and a holistic approach tailored to individual patient and family needs Assesses patients, develops collaborative care plans, delivers education, and coordinates referrals to ensure continuity of care Maintains accurate, timely documentation to support safe care and legal requirements Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, accountability, and leadership by delegating appropriately and guiding other healthcare team members Promotes patient, family, and workplace safety by preventing errors, infections, and accidents, and reporting concerns promptly Supports patient and family education using age-appropriate, culturally sensitive teaching strategies and hospital resources Engages in ongoing professional development and maintains required licensure, certifications, and annual competencies Upholds UnityPoint Health values, regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA, JCAHO), compliance requirements, and demonstrates reliable attendance Qualifications Diploma from an RN program. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state. Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
