Join an acute care facility committed to excellence in patient care and clinical leadership. We are seeking a strong and experienced Labor & Delivery RN Manager to lead our dedicated team and ensure the highest standards of maternal and neonatal care.
Department Overview
Our Labor & Delivery unit is designed to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. The unit features two HOPE Suite rooms tailored for natural births, complete with laboring tubs, birthing balls, Bluetooth monitoring systems, and birthing swings. The department also provides a full range of women’s health services including OB/GYN, pediatrics, breast health, and educational programs for new and expecting mothers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations in the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff while supporting ongoing professional development.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and schools of nursing to promote excellence in care and education.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and operational coverage for a 24/7 department.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Alabama (or compact state eligibility).
• BSN required or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required.
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex situations under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,800.00 - $124,000.00 per year
