A Day in the Life of an RN - Med/Surg Registered Nurses in the Med/Surg unit are essential for delivering direct and indirect care to patients across various departments, including post-surgical and rehabilitative settings. They collaborate closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and adherence to treatment plans. Challenges include handling a diverse patient population and rapidly changing conditions, requiring strong adaptability and problem-solving skills. Nurses also lead and mentor nursing staff, promoting high standards and teamwork in pursuing the facility's healthcare goals. The role requires maintaining detailed medical records, updating patient statuses, and implementing prescribed healthcare interventions diligently.
