ELMWOOD HILLS HEATHCARE IN BLACKWOOD, NJ IS LOOKING FOR AN RN NURSE EDUCATOR TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

Basic Function: Provides clinical education and evaluation to Nursing and Patient Care staff. Facilitates evidence-based education to ensure adherence to all regulatory agencies in the clinical area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BSN required. MSN preferred.
2 years LTC/nursing home experience required. Education experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Role models and supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes a culture of safe, high-quality care. Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel.
  • Works closely with nursing staff/care team to develop an environment that promotes staff growth, role competency, and proficiency in nursing skills and critical thinking, always ensuring patient and staff safety.
  • Implements specialized and non-routine nursing care for patients in various clinical settings to support individual plan of care.
  • Acts as a resource providing training on patient care procedures, equipment, new protocols, and learning/education initiatives.
  • Ensures that patient care staff are meeting evidence-based practice standards and institutional policies and strategies.
  • Promotes the use of scientific principles and critical thinking skills in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Meets and maintains clinical competencies measured by pre-determined credentialing standards, mandatory safety education, and completion of Basic Life Support.
  • Provides clinical education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff.
  • Incorporates evidence-based education and practice to ensure quality patient care.
  • Develops a plan to assist caregivers with education needs, problem resolution, and patient care management.
  • Initiates clinical skills development programs and implements education strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
  • Educates nursing and patient care staff in the use and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Assess education needs and develop verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to both groups and individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Readily adapts to change and welcomes new approaches when circumstances demand.
