Position Overview: The RN Clinic Lead provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetric clinic patients across couplet care, and applicable while serving in a leadership role that supports daily operations, staff coordination, scheduling oversight, and clinical excellence. This role combines direct patient care with supervision, mentoring, and coordination of OBGYN clinic services to ensure safe, high quality, patient centered care in alignment with McKenzie Health policies and organizational goals. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and support day to day clinical operations and nursing staff in alignment with McKenzie Health policies and organizational goals. Provide leadership and guidance to OBGYN clinic nursing staff, CMA III and staff as assigned. Coordinate and manage provider and clinic staff schedules to ensure proper coverage, operational efficiency, and continuity or patient care. Work under OBGYN clinic Physicians and mid-levels. Oversee nursing staff scheduling processes, including coverage needs, PTO coordination, and staffing adjustments. Conduct annual performance evaluations and take part in regular staff rounding and meetings. Serve as a clinical resource for staff, supporting quality care, patient safety, and efficient clinic and OBGYN overflows. Assist with onboarding, training, competency maintenance, and performance improvement initiatives. Ensure adherence to the nursing process, standards of practice, and patient centered care delivery. Interpret care plans and show proper procedures to nursing staff and support personnel. Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff related to health maintenance, disease prevention, and safety. Participate in performance improvement projects, audits, and data collections activities. Support continuity of care by collaborating with internal department and community health resources. Maintain required licensure, certification, and continuing education; support tracking and compliance for assigned staff. Outpatient and Clinic Responsibilities: Administer prescribed medications and treatments per provider orders. Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Maintain correct, prompt, and confidential patient documentation. Support patient flow, clinic operations, and coordination of services. Help with billing, insurance processes, and clerical duties as needed. Implement emergency protocols and provide lifesaving interventions when needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment. Monitor equipment for proper function and coordinate repairs as needed. Maintain inventory and requisition supplies. Follow department policies, procedures, hospital safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Qualifications Required Skills: Strong clinical judgement with proven leadership and decision-making skills. Knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, clinic operations, and professional nursing standards. Ability to supervise, mentor, and support nursing and support staff. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with patients and families, Providers, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and sound judgement in a demanding environment. Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift to seventy pounds. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing. Minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience with obstetric clinic experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Active Unencumbered Registered Nurse License with the North Dakota Board of Nursing BLS needed ACLS preferred NST Fetal Monitoring required, or willing to obtain within 6 months.
