Schedule: Full Time / Shift: Days (Mon-Fri: 8a.m. to 4:30p.m.) Location: 2100 Ocoee Apopka Road, Ste#: 310, Apopka, FL 32703 The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Apopka AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab The hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades The role you’ll contribute: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the OP Oncology Department is responsible for providing and supervising both direct and indirect total nursing care to age-specific groups, utilizing the nursing process which includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating. This role requires a cancer-specific knowledge base and clinical expertise in cancer care, particularly in administering nursing care to patients receiving OP Therapy. The RN operates under the direction of the physician and/or department manager in compliance with established standards, protocols, and the goals and objectives of the healthcare facility. This position adheres to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, ensuring adherence to OP Oncology Standards of Procedures/Work Instructions. The RN actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, demonstrating medical-surgical nursing skills alongside their specialized knowledge in oncology care. The value you’ll bring to the team: Performs and documents all procedures and assessments according to department policy. Obtains or delegates the obtaining of a nursing history and complete admission assessments, including pain screening. Evaluates patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, physiological norms, and signs of abuse or neglect. Conducts follow-up assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress. Identifies patient teaching needs and provide education on a planned or spontaneous basis. Administers treatments and medications, interpret and verify physician orders, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies and investigate questionable situations. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and support departmental quality standards and initiatives. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE appropriately, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Takes clinical and operational direction from appropriate manager. The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: Requirement: Associates of Nursing degree Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
