Call and holiday call is part of the expectations Location: 500 REMINGTON BLVD, Bolingbrook, 60440 The role you’ll contribute: Responsible for delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. This position assesses patient needs, plans and implements appropriate interventions, and evaluates outcomes. In addition, this position ensures patient safety and comfort through continuous monitoring and effective communication with the surgical team. Additionally, this role collaborates with other healthcare professionals to refine and implement the patient's plan-of-care, maintaining accurate documentation of patient care. Responsibilities for this role include providing leadership and direction to a group of caregivers, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the surgical team. The value you’ll bring to the team: Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans. * Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols. * Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. * Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance. * Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures. * Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. * Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. * Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. * Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery. * Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency. The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed: Associate's of Nursing Required Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred One or more years of Work Experience Required Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Preferred Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Required Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Preferred Registered Nurse (RN) Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) Required As defined by specialty area Preferred Academic Administration\E-Learning Instructional Design Certification Preferred
