Job Summary The RN Circulator provides direct perioperative nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role supports surgical procedures by coordinating patient care, maintaining a safe and sterile operating environment, and communicating continuously with surgeons and anesthesia providers. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct perioperative nursing care and patient advocacy throughout surgical procedures. • Assess patients preoperatively and intraoperatively, identifying and responding to physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs. • Communicate patient condition and changes to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members. • Prepare, clean, and maintain operating room suites before, between, and after procedures. • Ensure surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments are available, functional, and properly handled. • Maintain surgical asepsis and infection control standards at all times. • Safely position patients and protect bony prominences during procedures. • Administer medications and parenteral fluids per hospital policies. • Monitor patient responses to medications and document appropriately. • Coordinate patient and family education related to surgical care. • Participate in performance improvement activities, continuing education, and required in-services. Job Qualifications Required: • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arkansas or compact state. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical services or perioperative nursing. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Preferred: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). • CNOR certification. • Experience with arterial lines, spinal and epidural catheters.
