This position is for 12-hour days with night call required. This position is responsible for managing the OR nursing care by observing the surgical team from a broad perspective and creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. This position reports to the Manager of Surgical Services. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team while treating patients with kindness and consideration. Applying in-depth knowledge of patient safety and care when assessing patients prior to surgery and readiness to be taken to the OR. Adhering to safety standards and precautions when assisting with induction of anesthesia and positioning patient on the OR table. Demonstrating excellent knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical operation procedures in maintaining a clean and safe work area. Showcasing your superior communication skills as a team player while circulating the room and documenting the case during the procedure. Using keen observation skills to evaluate the emergence and postoperative phase. Assisting the surgical team by ensuring the Time Out is performed, counts are correct, and the Post Time Out is performed. Remaining calm and professional in crisis and emergent situations.
