ABOUT THE ROLE: The Patient Access Center RN will be the clinical resource for triage calls, answer clinical questions within the scope of their position, prepare medication refills, assist with scheduling urgent specialist appointments and perform other duties as required. FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: • Answers phone calls with excellent customer service skills. • Schedules patients within the algorithm designed. • Serves as the clinical resource for any scheduling, triage and prescription refill questions within the patient access center. • Take first call for triage and refill related questions. • Properly scans all appropriate paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). • Works closely with each practice to ensure all data items are accessible and in the correct standard within the patient EMR. • Provides directory information to internal and external inquirers. • Acts in a professional manner at all times. • Knowledgeable of all departments and services available in the facility. • Perform other duties as required. SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS: • Vermont RN license required • 2-5 years of related experience required.
