Job Details This position will float between the Commack and Centereach locations. The Registered Nurse provides safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting. The RN provides clinical leadership and is a resource for the staff. Responsibilities: Clinical Practice/Patient Care Order and maintain supplies for clinical use. Conduct health history assessments on procedural patients. Provide pre-procedure, post-procedure and support to patients in the breast health program. Obtain pertinent orders from referring physicians in preparation of procedures. Set up and assist the physician and monitor the patient’s condition during clinical procedures. Coordinate patient plan of care with Radiologist and the patient to ensure a quality experience and treatment. Monitor pathology results and report results to the required parties and databases Follow patient’s treatment plans from biopsy order through surgery completion, follow-up visits, imaging, surgeries, and oncology care. This is performed for events both within the health system and outside. Insert IVs Expedite and assist with office workflow. Administer FLU vaccinations to the staff. Perform quality control checks on iSTAT, AED, medications and emergency supplies. Address urgent clinical needs of the patients including allergic reactions and syncopal episodes. Requirements: Diploma/Degree from an accredited RN program, Bachelor's Degree preferred Current NYS RN License required. BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required. Current ACLS certification required Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills to enhance age-specific care. Team collaboration and analytical problem-solving Ability to work with Electronic Health records, Practice Management and Scheduling system Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in a physician's practice or ambulatory environment or previous related experience Must be able to function effectively in a busy outpatient clinical setting. Previous radiology/breast procedures experience is strongly preferred. Salary Range USD $43.99 - USD $67.71 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
