Position Overview Department: NICU Schedule: Multiple Shift Options Full Time Days Full Time Nights PRN Nights Weekend Only Work Location: UAB St Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more *Strong preference given to at least 1 year of previous experience as an RN, ideally in NICU. What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. ACLS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. PALS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred. Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide direct nursing care according to established protocols, implementing and monitoring patient care plans while noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. This role also involves serving as the primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care and assessing patient discharge planning needs.
