Position Overview Department: Surgery Recovery Room, Main PACU Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8AM-8:30PM; Call Required; No holidays, No weekends Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period. Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards. Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions. Manage patient's pain. Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Professional licensure at time of hire required. Additional Preferences No additional preferences. Responsibilities
