Overview RN Stepdown UnityPoint - St. Luke's - Sioux City Downtown The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and families that they care for utilizing the nursing process, and the skills that are part of their functions as a registered nurse. Responsibilities Collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans Delivers high-quality, patient-centered care using clinical judgment and critical thinking Communicates effectively with providers, team members, and patients to ensure coordinated care Accurately documents patient care in the EMR to support quality and compliance Delegates and supports team members based on scope, skills, and patient needs Recognizes changes in patient condition and escalates concerns appropriately Prioritizes patient safety, quality outcomes, and infection prevention in all aspects of care Participates in ongoing education and training to maintain and grow clinical expertise Qualifications Education: Successfully completed an accredited nursing program required. All newly licensed RNs with less than six (6) months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency program BSN Preferred Experience: n/a License(s)/Certification(s): Valid Nursing License with authorization to work in Iowa required Basic Certified Life Support certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months from date of hire required. Must obtain NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintain every two years thereafter. Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually required. Specialty certification is preferred.
