Description
The RN apprentice, followed by the RN performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for the assigned patients on a unit during a shift based on current academic level. The RN apprentice, followed by the RN is responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice, which includes managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment on the unit and for the collaboration with all members of the health care team. The RN apprentice is also responsible for following the standards set by the Alabama board of nursing for the apprenticeship program. Qualifications * Successfully completed fundamentals or equivalent course at an accredited nursing school * Attends and is currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school that participates in the Alabama apprenticeship program * Remains in good academic standing in the nursing program * Current Student Nurse Apprentice Permit issued by the ABN prior to start date
