OPERATING ROOM NURSE/ SPD TEAM LEADER

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM (Variable hours based on center needs; occasional after-hours/weekend availability required)

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Room Nurse Leader to lead and support our OR and Sterile Processing teams. This role combines leadership, clinical expertise, and strategic implementation to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The ideal candidate will serve as both a skilled Registered Nurse and a strong team leader within our dynamic and patient-centered surgical center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid RN license in the state of Tennessee (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field (BSN, BA, BS required)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Operating Room experience
  • Demonstrated high level leadership and supervisory skills in a clinical setting
  • Ability to effectively manage staff, prioritize tasks, and perform under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and physicians
  • Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to assume additional responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate Operating Room and Sterile Processing staff to ensure optimal clinical performance and professional development.
  • Facilitate participative management and shared decision-making within the department.
  • Provide staffing, education, support, and leadership coverage as needed across perioperative areas.
  • Implement and support strategic organizational initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and efficient care.
  • Maintain a presence during scheduled hours and provide leadership oversight during occasional after-hours or weekends, as required.
  • Perform additional duties to support the Director of Nursing and Administrator, as needed.
