Description Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care for clinic/office patient within the scope of regulations outlined in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Obtain and document patient vital signs. · Perform testing such as oximetry, glucometry, urinalysis and other tests when requested per practitioner. · Educate patient as directed. · Perform clerical duties as needed. · Administer medications and/or injections, prescribed procedures with instruction to patient. · Maintain patient care areas. · Monitor pharmacy area. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · As assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: · As outlined in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act. AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position. Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security. Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Ø Education – graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Ø Work Experience – at least one year experience providing direct patient care, physician clinic setting preferred. Ø Training – N/A Ø License/Certification – New Mexico RN/LPN license. BLS certified. ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
