Job Description We’re looking for a Road Maintenance Inspector to join our West Waikato State Highway Maintenance Contract team, based in Hamilton. In this role you’ll report to and support the Operations Manager, carrying out visual inspections in line with specified frequencies and updating the Principal’s AWM system to ensure accurate, reliable data. Key responsibilities: Use digital tools and technology to accurately record and detail inspection information Apply visual guidelines to identify defects, deterioration and failure modes Accurately assess defects for severity and priority maintenance repairs using the Fault Identification Guidelines Plan and carry out routine inspection programmes, including post‑event inspections and repair scoping Assist the Operational team with inspections based on routine work and Measure & Value work Collect evidence, images and test results to support evidence-based decision making Inspect the network in accordance with the inspection programme Undertake day and night inspections as required Participate in inspection alignment sessions and workshops Undertake miscellaneous activities as instructed from time to time.
