OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a motivated and experienced self starter with either a strong industry background or transferrable skills, that will ensure successful implementation of Councils road maintenance contract with DTMR. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and under limited direction, a strong and genuine commitment to safety, and the ability to forward plan. The ability to acquire a strong understanding of RMPC guidelines and infrastructure operations will be essential for success in this role.

• Experience in maintenance of Transport Infrastructure including but not limited to roads, stormwater assets and signage;
• Sound knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of legislative requirement within a local government context;
• Experience in maintenance planning and defect management;
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a small team of operators and labourers, including estimating and costs control activities;
• Demonstrated ability to engage and oversee subcontractors;
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety and the ability apply WHS and environmental protection requirements;
• Proven ability to use Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel and Outlook), and navigate a computerised maintenance management system including associated devices;
• Ability to work unsupervised and communicate maintenance requirements and risks to external and internal stakeholders; and
• Exposure to service delivery contracts and ability to acquire knowledge regarding contract performance and compliance
