JOB INTRODUCTION

The Bradford Council Road Safety Team is dedicated to reducing road traffic casualties across the district through education, training, and public awareness initiatives. They collaborate with traffic engineers and partner organizations to deliver age-appropriate sessions in schools on pedestrian safety, cycling, car passenger awareness, and responsible driving. Their work supports the broader Vision Zero strategy, aiming to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on Bradford’s roads.
Join our Planning, Transportation & Highways team as a Road Safety Officer and help shape safer journeys across the district. This dynamic role involves delivering education, training, and publicity programmes to reduce road accidents and promote safe travel for all road users. You’ll work closely with schools, community groups, and partner organisations to develop innovative initiatives that influence behaviour and improve public safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver road safety education and training programmes to all age groups.
  • Liaise with schools, nurseries, and community organisations to promote road safety awareness.
  • Analyse accident data to target vulnerable road users and develop casualty reduction strategies.
  • Create and coordinate publicity campaigns, exhibitions, and events to support national and local safety initiatives.
