The Road Service Technician is a Diesel technician who preferably has experience in the heavy equipment industry. This person will be required to have mechanical expertise, including diesel, to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe, and timely manner. You will be performing maintenance services, including repairs for diesel-run equipment. This position includes membership of the IUOE Local 158C Union. Pay Range: $24.77 to $38.85 per hour (Per Union Wage Schedule) Technician Benefits Union Benefits Annual Tool/Shoe Allowance Shop equipped with the newest technology and equipment Uniforms provided Discounts on products and services Highly productive shop Continued education, manufacturer hands-on and web-based training Competitive wages Qualifications Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Road Technician Prior experience with heavy construction or agricultural equipment strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team-oriented environment Exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism High level of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with standard computer applications and diagnostic tools Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Ability to safely and independently lift and transport equipment and parts weighing 50–75 pounds Responsibilities Provide technical service to equipment. Read job orders Observe and listen to equipment in operation to resolve malfunction issues and execute work procedures effectively. Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined. Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed. Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly. Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk. Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer happiness. Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by the supervisor. Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Participate in, and utilize to the best of one’s abilities, technical training as assigned by management. Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner. Show the utmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and dealership personnel. Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management. Adhere to the manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications.
