We are seeking someone who has experience in health, safety training, and driver coaching. Skills that are an asset include being safety-conscious, an effective communicator, stronger organizational and analytical skills, and a great customer service background. You know the city of Edmonton and the surrounding areas well and are an expert on current traffic rules and regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Health & Safety/Claims Manager, the Road Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all Cliffs, J&P Auto and Prestige (Limo, DATS, & CHOICE), drivers under his/her scope of work adhere to safe work practices, traffic rules, regulations, and company policies while providing safe and timely transportation services to our passengers.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A team player who is focused on providing exceptional service and a customer-focused attitude with the ability to take direction, work independently and work well with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask, including being able to remain flexible in continually changing and fast-paced situations.
  • Defensive driver training instructor experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work with time constraints in a complex environment.
  • Geographical knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
  • Possess advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively manage issues.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, additional certification in health and safety, defensive driver training, transportation management or in a related field is a great advantage.
  • Proven experience as a driver supervisor and coaching drivers or a related role in the transportation industry.
  • Must have a clean 5-Year driver’s abstract.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license – Class 1 preferred.
  • Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, safety standards, and customer service practices.
  • Ability to manage and motivate drivers to provide excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software, Samsara is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor the activities of Cliffs, J&P Auto & Prestige employees and drivers to ensure that they comply with traffic rules and regulations, company policies, and customer service standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and are properly maintained.
  • Assist in conducting driver training programs to ensure drivers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide excellent customer service.
  • Investigate accidents involving drivers and prepare reports on findings and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Ensure that all transportation-related documentation, such as driver logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records, is accurate and up to date.
  • Under the direction of the Driver Relations Department, communicate with drivers and customers, and other departments to ensure that transportation services are well-coordinated and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Monitor employee and driver performance. Provide feedback and coaching as needed to ensure that employees and drivers meet safety, performance, and customer service standards.
