Description Job Type Full-time Description Essential Duties: Roasting coffee consistently, efficiently, and to current standards. Ensure that roasting schedule runs efficiently, accurately, and on-time; schedule pre-roasting to align with production schedule. Attention to detail while logging green coffee and use inventory management system to record roasted coffee. Participate in coffee cupping, espresso labs, and other quality control activities and continuing education as necessary. Keeping up with daily, weekly, monthly and annual equipment maintenance. Ability to develop roast profiles and teach specialty coffee roasting. Participate in on-the-job training for warehouse and manufacturing processes, corporate policies, safety procedures, GMP Standards as defined by Supervisor and / or Manager. Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP's, equipment, policies, and procedures, including any department specific requirements. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 60 lbs. Must be passionate about coffee and coffee roasting. Thrive in a fast-paced environment thanks to professionalism, organization skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent attention to detail. Have solid math, verbal, and written communication skills. Partner with multiple departments effectively. Standing for long periods of time. This is a Tuesday through Saturday shift.
Responsibilities
The Roaster is responsible for consistently roasting coffee to standards while managing production schedules and inventory. They must also perform equipment maintenance and participate in quality control activities like cupping and espresso labs.
