Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Engineer (Robot Controls and Dressout) is responsible for the development and engineering of controls and dressout designs for the Product Plus Group (PPG) with a focus on efficient and accurate execution to help drive customer satisfaction along with overall project profitability.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, problem-solver who has experience with robotics in various applications and proven ability to develop controls and dressout prints.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical)
  • Comfortable working contract position
  • Experience in CAD software package.
  • Ability to create and read electrical interface, robot mechanical dressout and pneumatic prints
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawing suites.

Responsibilities
  • Engineer custom product plus solutions based on quoted project deliverables, change orders, and overall customer needs.
  • Develop dressout specifications to meet application needs and work with dressout suppliers.
  • Develop a plan and drawings for: Robot with dressout installed, Air/Water preparation equipment, J3 equipment/pneumatics and Robot controller interface package.
  • Order robot configurations, dressouts, and interface solutions on time and per customer specifications.
  • Hold engineering design reviews and maintain a high level of engineering accuracy following ISO procedures.
  • Provide regular communication/status updates to project team members and FAC management.
  • Provide customer support including application and implementation guidance and design approvals.
  • Release approved engineering packages in ERP for each project
  • Support Continuous Improvement of PPG Engineering Standards and refinement of ISO processes.
  • Manage project costs through efficient engineering and focus on lower cost solutions.
  • Support manufacturing/integration efforts on floor including testing plans for run-off validation.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations for internal and customer training.
  • Support failure analysis and troubleshooting efforts and present root cause and corrective action to customers.
