Description Robot Technician 1 Robot Technician 1 Page 1 of 3 January 2026 TITLE: Robot Technician 1 BUSINESS UNIT: REPORTS TO: Service Manager FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt LOCATION: Schaumburg, IL REVISION DATE: 1/1/26 SUMMARY CLOOS North America is looking for a motivated and experienced Robot Technician to help us with our growing installation, programming and field service capacity. The ideal candidate should have experience in programming, repairing and installing robotic systems. He or she will be involved in all phases of the process from system assembly and integration, installation, programming and servicing of the equipment. The Robot Technician will work closely with the project and engineering teams to ensure that all systems are built, delivered and installed to the needed specifications. Essential Functions: • Ability to read basic weld drawings simple 2D layouts and electrical schematics, • Program a welding industrial robot from scratch or using offline program. • Program a welding Collaborative Robot (CoBot) from scratch • Use a robot to perform single pass GMAW welds. (Tandem GMAW a plus) • Support Welding Demonstrations at CLOOS Facility as needed • Able to use and modify offline program • Assemble various mechanical assemblies using various tools such as impact wrenches and torque wrenches. • Install/replace prefabricated wiring harnesses, using various tools. • Connect wiring to terminals and connectors using specialized and basic hand tools and power tools. • Troubleshoot basic system errors. • Trouble shoot Welding Process issues • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Follow all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
The Robot Technician will be involved in all phases of the process from system assembly and integration to installation, programming, and servicing of robotic systems. They will work closely with project and engineering teams to ensure systems meet specifications.
