POSITION SUMMARY

Palmer Hamilton, LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Robotic Welder to join our Welding Department. The Robotic Welder is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending robotic welding systems to produce high-quality metal components for mobile furniture and related assemblies. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrates a high level of attention to detail, and embraces innovation in automated welding processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience operating robotic welding equipment preferred. oBasic understanding of MIG welding principles and welding processes.
  • Technical Skills: o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job instructions, and welding symbols.
  • Comfortable using machine control interfaces and inputting operational parameters.
  • Communication: o Strong verbal communication skills to report issues, receive direction, and collaborate effectively.
  • Math & Measurement: o Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
  • Physical Requirements: o Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and welding gear.
Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation & Setup: o Set up and calibrate robotic welding machines based on work order specifications.
  • Load and unload workpieces accurately into fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping prior to welding. oEnter and adjust operating parameters through the machine interface to optimize weld quality and efficiency.
  • Welding Execution & Monitoring: o Tend the robotic welder during operation, observing weld quality and adjusting controls or settings as necessary to correct defects.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent operation. oConduct visual inspections of welds for conformance to blueprint and quality standards.
  • Documentation & Communication: o Read and interpret blueprints, production schedules, and job travelers to determine welding requirements.
  • Record production outputs, report any discrepancies, and communicate issues to the Team Leader or Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Material Handling: o Move raw materials, workinprogress, and finished goods using manual or powered material handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation to support a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: o Perform inprocess and final quality checks to ensure product meets company and customer expectations.
  • Proactively identify and report material or equipment issues impacting weld quality.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE and following established procedures.
