  • Previous experience of fabrication and welding
  • Confident communicator to provide feedback, training and tuition.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Robotic Welding Operator to join our Power & Controls Strategic Business Unit of Collins Aerospace, based in Wolverhampton.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will support the Welding Engineering Department and production requirements regarding the function and operation of the robotic welding cells. Primarily this role will involve operation of the robotic welding cells. In addition, you will;

  • Process production components using the certified robotic welding programs and techniques.
  • Maintaining the function and operation of the robotic welding cells.
  • Become proficient in the use of the Fanuc robot via the teach pendant.
  • Become proficient in the use of the Fronius welding equipment.
  • Perform maintenance duties e.g. changing liners and contact tips, ensure cold wire feed system is performing correctly.
  • Identify possible issues that may affect the running of the cell.
  • Identify issues that could affect the welds. Make parameters changes accordingly.
  • Support Welding Engineer’s to implement new products and improvements to the robotic welding cells.
  • Review weld torch pathways and re-teach where necessary.
