Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Integration Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge autonomous systems. In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software, integrating sensors and enhancing the autonomy of UAVs and robotic platforms. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure seamless operation of autonomous systems, focusing on ArduPilot, DroneCAN, ROS, and other relevant technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in robotics and system integration to make an impact in a fast-evolving field.

WHAT YOU’LL BEING DOING (BUT NOT LIMITED TOO):

· Integrating and expanding the functionality of ArduPilot based UAS through the addition of new sensing or computing capabilities.
· Expanding upon existing autonomous capabilities and developing new autonomous systems.
· Developing new control methods for single and multiple platforms through homogeneous and heterogeneous simultaneous control.
· Developing low level drivers for additional sensing or computing behaviours.
· Application of low-level behaviour through to higher level control.
· Implementing and troubleshooting of Drone CAN/UAVCAN, serial and IP communication protocols for sensor, actuator and controller integration.
· Through-life testing of UAS systems and sub-systems from initial sub-system prototype to full development platforms.
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robotics functions are integrated with the whole system and validated appropriately.
· Documenting integration processes, system configurations, test procedures and troubleshooting guidelines for internal and external stakeholders.
