Description

Hatch Stamping Company is seeking a Robotic Maintenance Supervisor for our facility in Portland, TN. This role requires a leader who can effectively manage, motivate, and train a team of maintenance personnel, with a strong focus on robotics and PLC programming. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing robotic assembly equipment to ensure the production of high-quality products through safe and efficient machine operation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Oversee: Lead the build, setup, adjustment, and production launch of new robotic systems, including but not limited to robotic MIG weld and resistance weld machines.
  • Maintenance Management: Execute preventive and scheduled maintenance on all robotic systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and correct robotic equipment stoppages, mechanical breakdowns, and other issues; repair or replace parts, motors, control devices, and other components as needed.
  • Fabrication and Repairs: Utilize machine shop tools and equipment to fabricate and repair robotic systems and related machinery.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of machine programs, maintenance activities, safety protocols, and machine performance; prepare and present detailed maintenance reports, including trend analysis.
  • Prototype Development: Develop prototype fixtures from initial stamping, ensuring proper integration with robotic systems.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree in a technical field, trade school certification, or mechanical training in machine repair (including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics) is highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of five to seven years of relevant work experience, preferably in a facility with robotic systems, such as an automotive stamping plant.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Comprehensive understanding of robotic machinery, including their functions and maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of robotic systems, including presses from 300 Ton to 1,600 Ton, programmable transfer die systems, press controls, and drive motor units.
  • Strong background in preventive maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and PLC programming.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all departments and external contractors/vendors.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office or MRP software is preferred.
  • Team Orientation: A collaborative, team-oriented approach is essential.
