Novarc Technologies is looking for a Robotics Support Technician to join our growing team and support the production of our cobots.
Summary: This vital new position focuses on supporting our advanced, Linux-based robotic systems directly on the shop floor. As the main point of contact for the production team, you will be responsible for ensuring machine uptime, standardizing recovery procedures, and providing crucial feedback to our software and QA teams. This role goes beyond simple repairs; it directly influences productivity, morale, and product quality.
We are seeking a proactive college graduate to join our Software Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, empower our shop floor team, and bridge the gap between development and operations. This position reports directly to the Software Engineering team..
Work Environment: On-site, with a hybrid schedule potential after initial onboarding and demonstrated proficiency.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, starting no later than 8:30 am.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours and on weekends if and when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • New Graduates of post-secondary programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Linux environments and command-line operations is a must.
  • An innate problem-solving aptitude and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for welders and shop floor engineers, rapidly troubleshooting and resolving issues with our robotic systems.
  • Perform essential maintenance and recovery tasks, including complex PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) reboots, correcting camera parameters, and addressing hung software.
  • Execute “golden build” hard drive swaps to quickly reset machines to a known good state, minimizing downtime.
  • Systematically document recurring issues, process inefficiencies, and usability challenges in Jira to provide structured feedback to the engineering team.
  • Act as a key liaison between the shop floor and the Software Engineering team, translating operational insights into actionable bug reports and feature requests.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of clear troubleshooting guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to empower shop floor personnel.
  • Assist in validating software fixes and updates in a live production environment.
