Roman Catholic Director of Religious Education (DRE) Location: Commander, U.S. Fleet Activities, Sasebo (CFAS), Japan Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week; flexible based on program needs Key Responsibilities: Plan and lead Roman Catholic religious education programs for children ages 2–grade 5 Organize and oversee mid-week programs and Sunday School (minimum 40 sessions annually each) Plan and conduct at least four (4) special religious events per year (e.g., Christmas, Easter) Recruit, train, and supervise adult volunteers; maintain volunteer rosters Maintain attendance, material inventories, and program records Prepare after-action reports for events and submit required monthly and annual reports Coordinate facility scheduling, supplies, and promotional materials Build relationships with chaplains, chapel staff, DODEA schools, and community partners Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree Experience in children’s ministry or religious education Pastor’s or Chaplain’s recommendation letter Comfortable working in a religiously diverse, shared-chapel environment Proficient with Microsoft Word, email, and basic computer systems
