ABOUT THE ROLE

The Roofing Assistant will support our qualified roofers in the delivery of roofing projects by ensuring tools and materials are readily available, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and assisting with tasks to ensure efficient project completion. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the roofing trade and develop their skills within a professional property maintenance company. A willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced roofing professionals is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide general labouring support to roofers on-site.
• Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with the setup and dismantling of ladders, scaffolding, and roof access systems in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Support the removal of old roofing materials and help prepare surfaces for new installations.
• Carry out basic tasks such as cutting tiles, fitting underlays, and sealing areas as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always.
• Transport tools and materials to and from job sites as required.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures and site protocols.
• Assist with site clearance and clean-up upon completion of works.
• Report to the Roofing Team Leader and follow instructions accurately and professionally.
• Helping skilled roofers with tasks like applying shingles, flashing, and other roofing materials.
