Manuka Roofing Ltd is a specialist roofing company serving the commercial, industrial, and domestic sectors across the U.K. Established in 2012, we have continued to grow year on year, providing our employees with a supportive and progressive working environment.
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing Commercial team.
The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate project costings and bid proposals, working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional with proven experience in the roofing industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project requirements.
  • Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore value engineering options.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals within deadlines.
  • Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for future reference.
  • Monitor project costs during construction and provide regular progress reports.
  • Attend on-site meetings as required.
  • Support the Commercial team in delivering its full range of functions.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of roofing practices, costs, processes, and industry requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and estimating software (e.g., Estimate, Planswift).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction sector, specifically within flat roofing systems (Single Ply, Built-up Felt, Liquid Applied, Hot Melt).
  • Sound understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience in industrial/commercial roofing and/or traditional pitched roofing is advantageous.
  • References required.
