Based out of Plymouth, we are building a new local operation backed by the proven systems and standards of the Honest Abe network. The person who joins us now helps establish the level of quality and professionalism our market will come to expect from us. We put roofs over the heads of families and do so with the highest level of integrity. The Role The Field Manager is responsible for ensuring every roofing project is installed safely, professionally, and according to Honest Abe Roofing's quality standards. You will spend the majority of your time on job sites working directly with subcontractor crews - verifying installations, solving problems, and ensuring the homeowner experience matches the expectations set during the sales process. You will participate in repairs, verify measurements and materials, and ensure every job meets company standards before it is considered complete. This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk job. You are expected to lead from the roof, not the sidewalk. Crews respect competence. So do we. The Field Manager plays a critical role in maintaining our reputation by ensuring every project reflects the professionalism, quality, and integrity that define Honest Abe Roofing. What You'll Do Oversee and actively participate in 1–2 residential roofing installations per day Independently diagnose and execute residential roofing repairs to a high standard Manage subcontractor crews - set expectations, enforce quality standards, resolve issues on the spot Accurately measure jobs and place material orders Document every job with photos before, during, and after installation Maintain company vehicle and tools Attend daily morning meetings and communicate job status in real time via company app What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of roofing experience - installations and repairs Proven ability to manage and direct subcontractor crews from a position of credibility Capable of independently executing repairs without supervision Strong communicator - clear, direct, and professional with subs and internal team Smartphone proficient - daily use of apps for documentation, ordering, and communication Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record High school diploma or equivalent What You Get $25–$34/hr depending on experience Paid every week New company vehicle provided for work use, including fuel and maintenance Monthly quality bonus for zero-callback job performance 90-day retention bonus of for strong performers Paid time off and holidays provided Professionally branded gear and equipment Ground-floor opportunity to help build a roofing operation the right way Real advancement path as the business scales This Role Is Not For You If: You prefer highly structured, step-by-step supervision You've never managed subcontractors You're not comfortable holding yourself, or others, to quality standards on every single job Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders and work on steep-slope roofs Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
