John Flowers has an exciting opportunity to join our growing business as a labour driver. You will be working alongside roofers and assisting with materials and general site duties. We cover all the North East, although most of our work is within a 100-mile catchment area from the office we could on the odd occasion go further.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The successful candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate a combination of qualities including:

• Roofing experience (required)
• CSCS Card (required)
• Full, clean driving license (required)
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change and work effectively as part of a team, with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Friendly and professional manner, with good presentational, organisation and people management skills
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Have strong attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key responsibilities of the role will include all aspects of a being a roofer, including:

• Remove or repair broken tiles or slates – stripping
• Check the condition of roof timbers
• Measure the roof area to work out how much material is needed
• Fit insulation
• Cut and fit roofing felt
• Cover roofs with slates, tiles, sheets or cladding
• Apply waterproof membranes to flat roofs
• Fit plastic or lead ‘flashings’ around chimneys, windows and walls
• Seal roof joints with mortar
