ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in roofing management, including both planned works and reactive repair services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing responsive maintenance contracts within social housing or similar sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and industry legislation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a proactive and empathetic approach to resident engagement.
  • Competence in preparing RAMS and managing H&S on-site.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a workforce and coordinate multiple concurrent jobs.
  • Full UK driving licence.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • SMSTS or SSSTS Certification
  • First Aid trained
  • Scaffold awareness/inspection training
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations
  • Experience working with housing associations or local authorities
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Roofing Manager to lead our roofing team across planned and responsive maintenance contracts. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of both roofing installations and reactive repair works. You will ensure that all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and with a strong emphasis on quality and resident satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage roofing projects from pre-construction through to completion, including reactive and emergency repairs.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of responsive roofing repair services, ensuring timely resolution of faults and tenant issues.
  • Coordinate direct labour and subcontractors to deliver high-quality workmanship across all jobs.
  • Engage with residents, housing officers, and client representatives to ensure expectations are managed and communication is clear throughout.
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspections of roofing works to ensure quality control, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all works.
  • Monitor KPIs and maintain accurate records for all jobs including repair logs, job completions, and materials used.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and cost control.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant roofing systems, standards, and materials.
