Job Title: Room Attendant
Job Summary: Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit to lift items up to 50 lb (approximately 22kg).
  • Be able to move, lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and furniture regularly.
  • Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period of time.
  • Perform tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching overhead to clean and organize room
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Proactive in maintaining equipment and reporting safety issues.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling is an asset.
  • Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude at all times.

    Pay: $16.50-$17.50 per hour
    Expected hours: 30 per week

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare up to 16 guestrooms daily following Best Western standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including hallways, lobbies, and meeting spaces.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with a courteous and professional attitude.
  • Stock and maintain cleaning carts, linen supply rooms, and public restrooms.
  • Replace room amenities, including towels, toiletries, and literature.
  • Clean all surfaces, including windows, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, floors, and bathrooms.
  • Strip and make beds with fresh linens, ensuring rooms are inviting for the next guest.
  • Perform laundry tasks when needed, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and restocking linens.
  • Ensure proper handling and knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products to maintain safety standards.
  • Conduct safety checks, reporting any maintenance or safety issues (e.g., lightbulbs, locks, or other repairs) to the supervisor.
  • Ensure guest privacy and security by properly securing rooms after cleaning.
  • Attend daily housekeeping briefings and contribute to housekeeping projects, such as quarterly mattress turning.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of hotel policies and procedures, including lost and found and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties such as mending, organizing furniture, or handling houseperson responsibilities when required.
