The Glenmore Inn & Convention Centre, an AHLA Employer of Choice wishes to hire a Room Attendant who is eager to join a positive and outgoing Housekeeping team. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, and the Housekeeping Supervisors you will be responsible for ensuring that guests of our hotel are provided with exceptional room cleanliness and upkeep during their stay. Responsible for the cleaning of guest rooms during checkouts and stay overs. This is a physically demanding position that requires a high level of attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous housekeeping experience an asset.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, and strong communication skills.
  • CPR, First Aid Certification an asset.
  • WHMIS training an asset.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs without assistance
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 100lbs
  • Ability to work frequently in tight quarters or with various physical constraints; requiring prolonged kneeling, bending and standing
  • Bondable
  • Literacy in English with the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • The Glenmore Inn currently has a SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination policy in effect. Employees are required to provide, unless medically contraindicated, proof of full vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) with a Health Canada approved vaccine.

Responsibilities
  • Display, and develop a “guest comes first” attitude while on shift
  • To ensure that all guests are treated with respect and professionalism and provided consistent guest service excellence
  • To inform guests of all hotel facilities and services if asked
  • To communicate to guests and staff in a professional and respectful manner
  • Clean guest rooms; following department S.O.P.
  • To relay information and issues to the immediate supervisor, including but not limited to; guest room repairs, shortage of supplies
  • Inform Front Desk and/or Maintenance of any immediate concerns affecting the condition of the hotel, including but not limited to; damaged furniture, room amenities, leaking tap sets, leaking toilets, water damage
  • Follow WHMIS protocols.
  • Follow all Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) requirements and guidelines of use.
  • Turn mattresses quarterly as per the direction of the supervisors
  • Restock housekeeping trolley with supplies
  • Keeping work areas neat, organized and clean
  • Abide by all memos and policies
  • Turn in all lost items to the Executive Housekeeper in a timely manner.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Management
  • Perform the duties of a laundry attendant and/or public spaces attendant as needed
  • Remain productive throughout the entire shift
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, notably ensuring to use safe work practices while cleaning guest rooms
  • Follow Departmental and Glenmore Inn policies and procedures while on shift.
