Company Description The Fairmont Hanoi will open in the Vietnamese capital on March 30, 2026, making it the first Fairmont brand in the country. Job Description The Room Controller is responsible for managing room inventory, coordinating room assignments, and ensuring optimal room utilization to maximize guest satisfaction and hotel revenue. The role works closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Guest Relations to ensure rooms are allocated according to guest preferences, VIP status, and operational priorities. Responsibilities Room Allocation & Inventory Control Manage daily room assignment and room inventory to optimize occupancy and guest satisfaction. Prioritize room allocation for VIPs, long-stay guests, repeat guests, and special requests. Monitor room status and coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for arrival. Control room upgrades and ensure they follow hotel guidelines. Coordination with Departments Work closely with Housekeeping to track room availability and cleaning progress. Coordinate with Reservations and Revenue Management regarding room availability and forecasted occupancy. Liaise with Guest Relations for VIP arrivals, special amenities, and personalized arrangements. Guest Experience Management Ensure special requests such as connecting rooms, high floors, or specific room types are properly arranged. Support the Front Desk team in resolving room assignment issues or room changes. Monitor arrivals to ensure smooth check-in experience for guests. Operational Control Review daily arrival, departure, and in-house guest lists. Manage overbooking situations in coordination with Front Office management. Maintain accurate room status in the Property Management System (PMS). Support the Front Desk team in performing check-in and check-out procedures. Administrative Duties Prepare daily room control reports. Monitor room availability and forecast occupancy. Maintain communication logs regarding room assignments and guest requests.
