Room Leader – Join the Ashbourne Day Nurseries Team
Location: Princes Risborough
Are you passionate about early years education and looking for a leadership opportunity where you can make a real difference? Ashbourne Day Nurseries is on the lookout for a dedicated Room Leader to join our amazing team and help us create a fun, inspiring, and nurturing environment for the children in our care.
About Us
Ashbourne Day Nurseries was founded in 2008 with a simple but powerful mission: to provide high-quality childcare in an environment where both children and staff feel supported and valued. We started with our first nursery in Oxley Park, Milton Keynes, and have grown into a group of unique nurseries located in diverse settings, from purpose-built facilities to farm and listed building locations.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, but we also believe in the importance of creating a fun, creative, and family-friendly atmosphere for everyone in our care. Each day at Ashbourne is full of learning, laughter, and growth, and we’re looking for a Room Leader to help us continue that journey.
Your Role as Room Leader
As Room Leader, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of dedicated practitioners in your designated room. You’ll plan and deliver engaging, creative activities that support each child’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. You’ll also play a key role in supporting your team, ensuring they’re confident, motivated, and well-equipped to provide the best care for the children.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll be making a positive impact on the children’s early years journey every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supervising a team of childcare practitioners within your designated room
  • Planning and delivering fun, engaging activities that follow the EYFS framework
  • Observing and assessing children’s progress, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met
  • Providing day-to-day support to staff, offering guidance, mentoring, and fostering a positive team culture
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and carers, keeping them updated on their child’s progress
  • Ensuring the room meets the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation
  • Supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy in achieving nursery goals and maintaining high levels of care and education

About You

  • You hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • You have experience working with children in an early years setting, with some leadership or supervisory experience
  • You have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • You’re a natural leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • You’re proactive, approachable, and confident in leading a team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • You’re excited to make a difference and help shape the nursery’s culture in a positive, nurturing way

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary package
  • Opportunities for career development and progression within the Ashbourne family
  • Ongoing training and professional development to help you grow in your career
  • A supportive and friendly team who are passionate about providing high-quality childcare
  • A fun and engaging workplace where creativity is encouraged
