OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join an independent day nursery. This is a full-time position for a dedicated childcare professional with strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and a passion for delivering high-quality early years education. The role involves overseeing a team, planning and implementing activities, supporting children’s development, and contributing to the smooth daily running of the nursery.

REQUIREMENTS

• A full and relevant UK Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification
• In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
• Experience in planning, observing, and recording children’s development
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• A collaborative, team-focused attitude with a commitment to high-quality care
• Punctuality, reliability, and strong work ethics

• Lead and manage a team of staff to ensure effective daily operations
• Support children’s development through engaging, child-centred learning and play
• Plan and deliver activities aligned with EYFS goals and individual next steps
• Monitor, assess, and record children’s progress
• Act as Key Person for a designated group of children
• Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed
• Conduct staff inductions and supervision meetings
• Organise and attend parent meetings and nursery events
• Open and close the nursery as per rota requirements
• Participate in operational and staff meetings to support continuous improvement
