Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking multiple highly experienced Rope Access Technicians to work in the Geotechnical arm of our SRG Global Mining division. These positions will be on a full-time contract and include living and working in the Goldfields DAMA region. Specifically, these individuals will be working at the KCGM Superpit. These are not fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) positions.
Successful applicants are required to hold relevant IRATA Certification and depending on their level will receive a site rate starting from $54.63 and $61.76

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct rope access maneuvers.
  • Adjust, inspect, maintain, properly use, care for and store all rope access equipment necessary to perform the rope access work.
  • Inspect and verify the integrity of anchor systems and components.
  • Complete and maintain site records.
  • Perform standard SRG rescue procedures for the specific work environment.
  • Install cable bolts, ground support mesh and accessories.
  • Implement testing where required.
  • Understand and implement fall protection.
  • Rope access equipment fitting and pre use checks.
  • Attend safety meetings and awareness sessions.
  • Conduct Safety evaluations of rope access operations.
  • Manage access and maintain exclusion zones at the work site.
  • Report unsafe hazards or risks to Site Supervisor and Site Manager.
  • Supervise personnel, implementation and oversight of rope access activities at the worksite, ensuring activities are conducted safely and comply with the rope access program (Level 3 only).
