  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in rostering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, confident, and solutions-focused.
  • Problem-solving mindset—able to adapt to last-minute changes calmly and effectively.
  • High attention to detail with strong record-keeping and data management skills.
  • Understanding of NDIS guidelines, Fair Work legislation, and workplace awards.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Roster Coordinator at T and K Support Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring our participants receive the right support, at the right time, from the right people. You’ll be the central link between participants, support workers, and management—balancing participant needs, workforce availability, compliance requirements, and operational efficiency.
This role is fast-paced, detail-focused, and people-centred. You’ll need to think ahead, solve problems quickly, and keep communication clear to ensure smooth service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Roster Management & Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain rosters that align with participant needs, service agreements, and NDIS funding requirements.
  • Allocate shifts effectively, balancing participant choice, staff availability, and operational demands.
  • Monitor changes in availability, approve/adjust leave requests, and manage shift swaps or cancellations.
  • Respond quickly to urgent roster changes to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery.
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Provide timely roster updates to staff and address any scheduling conflicts.
  • Liaise with management to ensure workforce planning meets service growth and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with HR and recruitment to fill roster gaps and onboard new staff.
  • Compliance & Record Keeping
  • Ensure all rostering practices comply with NDIS guidelines, Fair Work legislation, and workplace awards.
  • Maintain accurate records of shifts, attendance, leave, and changes.
  • Prepare reports on rostering efficiency, shift coverage, and workforce utilisation.
  • Workforce Support
  • Assist in onboarding new staff by explaining roster systems, processes, and expectations.
  • Contribute to workforce planning strategies and operational meetings.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call roster to manage urgent changes outside regular hours.
