We are seeking motivated veterinary surgeons interested in developing their equine knowledge and practical skills as a key part of a progressive and supportive team in a busy referral hospital.
Interns rotate through different services on a weekly basis including soft tissue surgery, medicine, orthopaedics, sports medicine, imaging, and anaesthesia. Each intern participates in 1 in 5* of night shift weeks, and 1 in 5* weekend day shifts to assist with the busy emergency caseload.
This role provides a solid foundation to allow interns to develop their careers in a number of areas, including ambulatory practice and specialist training. In addition to invaluable clinical experience, there is ample opportunity for involvement in research, teaching qualifications and publications. The internship also provides CPD access to the Veterinary Postgraduate Unit. The current programme includes several elective¿ weeks*, allowing individual interns to tailor their internship to best suit their desired clinical experience. (*The OOH rota and
elective¿ weeks may change at the hospital¿s discretion for operational reasons)

You would need to be MRCVS registered before you start in the post.
Experience in equine or mixed practice is preferred, but new graduates are considered and encouraged to apply.
Interns are entitled to 30 days holiday per year, in addition to 5 days for CPD and a CPD allowance of £770.
The post are available for 12-month starting 1st September 2025.
