Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Rotating PCA and critical part of the Nursing team, you will be exposed to a variety of elements relating to the preparation and care of our patients. This includes walking and feeding animals, sterilising surgical equipment, and assisting the nursing team in handling patients and preparing pets for surgery.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will strive to maintain the highest clinical and professional standards. You will be working in a fast-paced team that requires a great eye for detail and patient care.
This is a hands role, and although experience working with animals is beneficial, it is not essential as formal training will be provided.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A ROTATING PCA INCLUDES, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assisting the nursing team with setting up for induction of patients.
- Holding and preparing patients for surgical procedures; clipping, central lines, arterial catheters, epidurals, and nerve blocks.
- Working with the Theatre Technicians to assist in the cleaning and sterilising of surgical equipment.
- Walking and feeding patients.
- Ensuring all clinical areas are kept to a high level of cleanliness.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:
- Experience (desired) of working within a clinical and/or high-pressured environment, and/or experience of working with animals within a professional or personal capacity.
- Ability to work under pressure and stay calm.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.
- Good time management skills
- Working within a busy team and can work on own initiative.
- Methodical approach to working.
- Passion for the welfare of animals.
