Description To operate equipment to clean dirt, scale, and materials from metal objects with blasts of shot. Essential Functions: Loads, operates and monitors roto-blast equipment and adjusts controls on equipment to regulate pressure and amount of abrasive blast. Performs minor maintenance on equipment and notifies repairer when unable to correct malfunction. Transports tools to and from specific production areas. Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: No minimum educational requirements. One to three months of related experience or on-the-job training. Physical: Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day. Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands or arms; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. Must have good peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on work. Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high noise levels, and vibration to hands. Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection. Mental: Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions, including maintenance instructions. Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
