Starting in 1983, Fisher & Thompson has grown into the leading dairy service and equipment company on the east coast. Summary: To initiate interest with the dairy producer in the services and products sold by Fisher & Thompson through demonstration, answering questions, and giving advice to dairymen on the qualities and benefits of the products. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Familiarize yourself with Fisher & Thompson’s products and services to better explain what we offer to the dairy producers. Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales literature for the producers. Present and sell company services and products to current and prospective dairymen. Continually seek out new opportunities with dairy producers within established regions. Follow up on referrals and new leads resulting from completed cold calls. Meet sales goals and objectives assigned by Route Sales Manager. Prepare schedules and action plans to identify targets, and list the dairymen contact numbers. Build positive rapport and relationships with our customer base. Observe all bio-secure measures. Stay up-to-date with the latest procedures for producing/selling high quality milk. Observe/check milking equipment for cleanliness. Handle the customer base as well as identifying and resolving their concerns. Coordinate with company staff to achieve the work required in closing the sale (teamwork). Follow all company procedures and protocols. Maintain a professional image. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Preferred Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks. Capacity to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suites. Self-starter able to work independently and with a team. Understand Pricing, Margins and Profitability Ability to meet safety standards Valid Driver’s Licenses with ability to maintain throughout duration of employment Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years prior business or sales experience preferred. Previous work experience within an agricultural setting preferred. Experience with data entry and record keeping. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and can safely operate a motor vehicle within DMV and DOT guidelines. Management Responsibilities: This position has no management responsibilities. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting and driving a vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Equipment Used: General equipment used in this position includes but is not limited to laptop/tablet/smartphone and other general office equipment. Safety, Protective Clothing & Gear Requirements: Safety requirements for this position include but are not limited to proper footwear while working on farms and in warehouses. Use of safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, etc. Employees must follow any additional safety requirements as posted in specific job areas. Environmental Conditions: Working conditions potentially associated with this position include, but are not limited to, farm environment, hazardous materials, electrical hazards, frequent driving, power tool operation, and adverse weather conditions.
