Purpose of Job: Manage, train, and develop delivery drivers to service and aggressively expand sales on an assigned set of customers along all routes. Job Components: Manage, train and develop delivery drivers. Collaborate with Market General Manager to set team goals and ensure they are being met. Prepare and distribute operational reports. Train all delivery drivers on policies and procedures Maintain knowledge of the operation’s overall financial results and how the delivery driver team is impacting the results. Ensure delivery drivers are compliant with all Company policies and procedures, DOT and safety rules and regulations. Partner with Market General Manager and EHS to ensure that vehicle fleet is maintained and serviced timely and properly. Maintain contact with dealers and obtain feedback on the quality of service being provided. Fill in on routes as needed. Help load, unload, and count trucks as needed. Ride along with different delivery drivers during the week to evaluate training needs and to provide feedback to strategize how to improve; Provides recognition for successes. Participates and engages team in the practice of continuous process improvement. Create/maintain a culture of shared ideas, open communication, and a positive, strategic and motivational attitude within the team. Qualifications: High school graduate (or equivalent) Minimum of one-year previous supervisory experience required. Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment strongly preferred. Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of federal, state and interstate commerce regulations including HAZMAT shipping laws and requirements. Able to lift and/or move 75 lbs. Must have and maintain a DOT medical certificate, valid state Driver’s License (depending on location, a CDL may be required) and an acceptable driving record. Scope Data: Works under limited supervision Uses frequent independent judgment when making decisions. Accountable for general duties within delivery operations. Manages two or more Team Members Work Environment: Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, electricity, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects. Able to lift up to 75 lbs. Repetitive lifting Frequent sitting, standing and walking Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc.).
