Job Purpose
Safe and effective operation of remote vehicle and associated systems in the pursuit of project objectives and deliverables on board the nominated vessel. Ensuring that all aspects of the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operation they are asked to carry out are in accordance with the ROV Operations Manual and the Business Management System (BMS). Assist with the offshore training and development of ROV Pilot Technician’s.

Job Description

  • To ensure that all ROV operations under his control are discharged in accordance with approved procedures and TechnipFMC Quality Health Safety and Environment policy and objectives
  • To ensure that RSU personnel under their supervision perform their tasks safely and efficiently
  • To notify the ROV Supervisor of the need to stop or shut down unsafe operations or equipment
  • To deputise for the ROV Supervisor as and when dictated by manning constraints and as part of career development, e.g. Shift Supervisor in the event of 24-hour operations (Note 1)
  • Maintain good interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues and supervisors
  • To arrange for or prepare accurate and detailed dive maintenance or daily or other reports as may be deemed necessary
  • To provide “on the job” training where necessary
  • To conduct ROV and systems offshore maintenance in compliance with TechnipFMC schedules
  • To carry out tasks deemed within candidate’s capability / competency as requested by company management or Superintendent / Supervisor
  • To assist with the procurement of parts/materials
  • To assist with system stock control
  • Ensure an effective shift handover takes place including any Worksafe procedures and explanation of current working conditions

You are meant for this job if:

Essential:

  • A nationally recognised Technician qualification in a relevant technical subject (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / Hydraulic). Minimum Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent
  • Shall possess current offshore survival and medical certification to UK and Norwegian minimum standards

Preferred:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant engineering subject (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / Hydraulic)
  • High Voltage Safety Awareness training certification
  • Basic Hydraulics training certification
  • Manual Handling certification
  • Working at Height certification
