The role | Te tūnga We are seeking an experienced and adaptable communications professional to join our team as a Roving Press Secretary. This events-based role provides surge support across Ministerial Offices, covering both planned and unplanned absences, and delivering communications capability and training as part of the 54th Parliament. This is a three-year, events-based parliamentary term position. You will support Ministers by planning, preparing, and delivering proactive and reactive communications, helping promote key strategies and initiatives. The role requires the ability to anticipate stories before they emerge, shape narratives, and respond effectively in a fast-moving political and media environment. Working across a range of portfolios, you will quickly build an understanding of Ministers’ priorities and responsibilities, ensuring communications are clear, accurate, timely, and aligned with Government direction. You will regularly engage with Ministerial staff, colleagues across the Parliamentary precinct, and key stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative and professional working environment.
